Nate Pacheco and Craig Kellman

The multi-talented Nate Pacheco has posted some gorgeous Craig Kellman drawings over on his blog. He and some of his friends got together and pitched some new designs to Kelloggs to re-introduce Tony the Tiger on his 50th birthday. Unfortunately Kelloggs passed on the idea. It's a damn shame because they put together some beautiful concepts.

what dorks! I'd call them the other 'D' word but that wouldn't be too appropriate to post....

This design would be perfect towards their target audience! Kids would adore it.

All corporate companies want is 'safe' a.k.a. 'lame'. Though they often use 'hip' words like 'cutting edge', "extreme', and 'outside the box' when describing what they want.
..... Not that I would have any experience in that field .....

p.s. awesome designs, thanks for linkin' em'bud. :)

That does suck, although it's not surprising to here. I totally dig this new tony design though. It's really refreshing to see a new take on this character.

Thanks for the link! That would be awesome if they did Tony designs like that. They could even make it a dream sequence of the "regular Tony" if they were too afraid to ruin their brand.

Those are quite wonderful, thanks for the linkage.
Kellog's will probably do something "original" and go CG.
