Cavemen

This is an old one that I had thought disappeared until I discovered again tonight. I was mostly thinking of Sienfeld and Puddy when I did this one. Hopefully you guys think it's worth posting.

Commentary: I skipped over my usual flash ->Photoshop cleanup combo on this one, and just went "balls out" with photoshop brushes right over the rough. The edges tend to get a little wonky, but it helped give the whole illustration a more traditional feel.

I dont see the wonky edges, looks pretty good to me...

I think this is wonderful. The looseness is great. Great textures too. I'm lovin the background. Steve, you did it again.

Great as always but I prefer the flash > photoshop cleanup combo on your work.

It looks great, Mr. Lambe, but personally, I'm not so big on the cloud in the background. It's shape seems so specific, that for a moment I was trying to figure out what it was exactly (a boat? a whale in a thought baloon?).

But that's not much of a criticism. Overall, I like it a lot.

Thanks for the feedback, guys and gals.

MehmetSaygin: I'm totally suprised you prefer the flash/photoshop way. I figure this one felt way more organic doing it this way. Maybe it's too loose then.

dcmackinlay: Thank you Mr.Cam Cam!I actually stole that cloud idea from a flintsones golden book. I thought it was a cool design but I guess it's a wee bit distracting.

Gene: Thats some heavy talk from a guy with breasts .Viva la pepperoni nipples!! ;)

Jay: No special brushes...just a lot of drawing and erasing. My hands are as steady as a crack addict....in a smack store......with money.

Nice! I am learning my way around Photoshop... if you don't mind, what brush are you using for the texture? It looks great!

Very nice image. The right one somehow reminds me of Joey from the Friends series. :)

Congrats on your new job! I hope it will not keep you from bloggin'.
