My piece for the LA Myth show over at Meltdown comics this weekend. It's a little darker than my usual stuff but I had lot of fun trying something new. If you're in the area, then drop by and check out out the show...oodles of amazing artwork from some very talented people. Thanks to mi amigo, Kyle for the invite!

Beautifully sad. When you scroll down looking at it, its like memoirs of someone who seemed so happy. And then the shocking cancellation of her life at the bottom, like the ending to a film. The contrast of the white on the dark red for her hair also makes it all the more shocking. Its really lovely.
i always love your work Lambe. There is always so much to look forward to seeing on your blog. i am an aspiring character designer so seeing your stuff really motivates me to work harder. i would love to work with you or designers as cool as you in the near future. till then, keep the posts comin.

I love the tension between the style (more often used for funny stuff) and the subject.
It reminds me of great upbeat song that makes you feel happy for weeks until you actually listen to the down beat lyrics and you end up loving it more
cool stuff steve....
muy buenas ilustraciones
The darker side of Lambey! I like it! Had no idea you were in tha show.... yet another show I gotta catch after the fact....
Cool and inspiring stuff here!
I've linked you to my blog, I hope it's ok...
hey! Great piece! It's dark but I think it makes the point! I love the fact that you used this rich vibrant red to portray the mood and energy. Such a good piece! =) Cheers Mista~
a bit morbid wouldn't you say old bean? Sure sure it's a nice shape and colourful and all that but she seems awfully dead
Sorry I missed you at the show. I think your piece is great!
Thanks for the birthday wishes PIMP!
Tasteful and insightful (and pretty, too), Steve. Congrats.
Dark and cool!
i agree w/zsl ~ it's beautifully sad. the color as well as the details of each portrait ~ all fantastic!
it's okay to be dark now & again ~ helps keep things in perspective & appreciate the lighter side :)
This is Wonderful! You definitely have to make this a print to go with your others.
cool!
great sketch! great color and composition!

I love seein' the range man. Googly eyed cartoony goons are always cool but the occasional darker side is always an attention grabber.
Ha! That's funny-neat theme for an art show.
DEEEEEEEP.
It was a pleasure to be hung on the same wall as you. Hung or hanged? Either one sounds weird. Maybe I'll say hunged. In any case, yer stuff rocks. Nuff said.
Thanks for the comments on my Purple People Eater illustration. I struggled with making the word "People" different colors and because of the ambiguity of the song I had to make the word purple as well. (Does it eat purple people? Or is it purple and eats people?)
Thank you for the good critique. I put my shirts up for critiques at Threadless if you want to check them out before they go in the running.
