Jose Luis Agreda

Yahoo.....my friend, Jose Luis has a blog!! I fell in love with his work a few years ago on the drawing board, and have been his die-hard fan ever since. He's got a fantastic eye for shape, color & design. It took a little convincing at first, but he finally gave in and jumped on the blog train. Please check him out at http://homepage.mac.com/agreda/iblog/

Hopefully he wont kill me for posting one of this earlier pieces. Sorry Jose Luis...it's one on my favorites ;)

What does hell look like?

This was a bg concept for my friend, Sean Scott. He's got this great show he's pitching called "Jimmy Two Shoes", and he asked me to give him a hand. The location is hell...on the right is the devil's place, and the left is his super annoyingly happy neighbour, Jimmy.

Cool news!!

Well, it's official....I'm signed up as a fancey smanchy designer on the "Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi" show. It's only part time, but definitely a good start in the direction I've always wanted to pursue. Anyone that's known me personally can tell you how much I enjoy Cartoon Networks design style. Designers like Craig Kellman and Lynn Naylor are like gods to me! It also doesnt hurt that I've been a huge fan of Renegade for awhile. Their sense of style and animation is top notch.

So being offered this job is kind of big deal to me. Makes me feel validated in a way. Bonifide even. Yay!

Note:I didnt draw this image......property of Cartoon Network.

Stray cats

Some designs I did for a friend awhile ago. He wanted some cats set in the 50's era. Not much character present in these, but I like how you can read who's who solely by silhouette.

Cavemen

This is an old one that I had thought disappeared until I discovered again tonight. I was mostly thinking of Sienfeld and Puddy when I did this one. Hopefully you guys think it's worth posting.

Commentary: I skipped over my usual flash ->Photoshop cleanup combo on this one, and just went "balls out" with photoshop brushes right over the rough. The edges tend to get a little wonky, but it helped give the whole illustration a more traditional feel.
